Howdy.
That heavyset fellow on the far left is me, Charlie.
My background is in engineering, chemistry, and a bit of mathematics. I dreamed up most of the products and the methods to make them.
My brother-in-law, Ron, and I founded this little company back in '76 when I was 36. In '83 Ron sold me his shares and left Jenny Craver, his secretary, and me to fend for ourselves. My dad, Big Charlie, maintained an office here too, and he was always ready to lend a hand (and a hand-out) when necessary.
By the early '90s, the textile business was sinking fast, but Jenny (and now Wayne Belton) and I managed to keep going. Times were tough. By the early 2000's, the kids were beginning to take an interest, and that new blood plus the internet and engineering skills that came with them has really given us a boost.
We have all grown up with the soap business. The kids used to help me run the bottler. My youngest, Morgan, and I created the Laundry Powder. Taylor took on sales; James, engineering and international sales; and Morgan, with the help of Jenny C., IT, accounting, payroll, and payables. We made my daughter, Jenny, the chairman of the board and my wife, Jane, treasurer.
We are all dedicated to producing the highest quality bio-degradable, environmentally safe, and hypo-allergenic products possible, and we are very proud that they have been tested against the best and have always won hands down. Our commitment to research ensures that we will continue this legacy.
So please try our Charlie's Soap. We'll keep making it the best product you can buy. That's a promise.
